Internet access
Stay connected
Public Wi-Fi hotspots are relatively scarce in Japan, and the few that do exist are neither fast nor secure. Most “Wi-Fi spots” (areas offering free connection) only cover a very limited range, meaning your connection cuts off as soon as you step outside the zone — forcing you to stay in place while you use it.
To stay connected freely throughout your trip, we offer two convenient options: eSIM and Pocket Wi-Fi.
Simply let your travel advisor know which option you prefer.

POCKET WI-FI
Q&A
Why use a Pocket Wi-Fi or an eSIM?
Having internet access has become essential for getting around with GPS, checking shop opening hours, or looking up train timetables. It also adds an extra layer of safety for you and your family, and ensures you can stay in constant contact with the AYUMI Voyage team.
How fast is the connection?
Speeds are similar to a 4G+ connection in France, and in some areas even faster.
Can I use the internet everywhere in Japan?
Yes, coverage is nationwide. Even in very rural areas or when riding the subway, disconnections are rare.
Cherry on top
Travellers who choose airport pick-up with a guide can receive their Pocket Wi-Fi directly from them upon arrival — no waiting required.
Alternatively, we can deliver your Pocket Wi-Fi straight to your hotel or have it ready for collection at an airport counter.
