Go with a guide
Japan remains a relatively inaccessible destination, largely due to the language barrier and cultural differences. Indeed, it's not uncommon to encounter lost travelers in train stations or in cities.

Q&A
What are the opening hours for a guided tour?
The guides will accompany you at the following times:
- Full day: from 9am to 5pm
- Morning only: from 9am to 1pm
- Afternoon only: from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
I would like to book a guide for the day. Can I then do a food tour with the same guide?
Of course. Our guides are available to you as their schedules allow. We encourage you to let us know of any requests you may have when planning your tour.
Can I hire a guide in any city?
We work with a large number of guides in many regions. However, their number and availability vary depending on the area. We make every effort to find a guide for you at your chosen location. However, to guarantee the quality of our services, we only work with professionals. Therefore, it is possible that no local guide may be available.
Am I charged for my guide during a workshop?
When a guide is present with you at a workshop, they assist you and can act as an interpreter but will not participate in the workshop itself. Therefore, whenever possible, you will not be charged an additional fee for the guide's presence at a workshop. However, some artisans do charge a small fee for a guide's presence.
How far in advance should I book a guide?
Ideally, we book your guide when you create your tour. If you add this service later or even after your arrival in Japan, we will do our best to find you a guide, subject to availability. Contact us with any questions.
The little extra
