Nagoya, an unexpected cultural gem
Discover Nagoya, a city where tradition and a gentle way of life blend together: between visiting the feudal castle and participating in a tea ceremony, every moment invites relaxation.
Day 1, Nagoya: Cultural and culinary immersion
If you arrive in Nagoya in the morning, start with a typical breakfast called “morning”, a local specialty where coffee and sandwiches are served with eggs, salad or toast, in iconic cafes around the city.
Then head to the Shirotori Garden , an exceptional Japanese garden that changes its appearance according to the seasons: cherry trees in spring, maple trees in autumn, and peaceful ponds all year round.
For lunch, push open the door of a hitsumabushi restaurant, grilled eel on rice, an iconic dish of Nagoya that must be enjoyed in three different ways (without condiments, with condiments, then with o-chazuke ).
In the afternoon, explore Nagoya 's tea ceremony scene with a guided tour of famous pavilions like Hōju-an or Shinshu-an , where you can observe tea preparation and participate in a traditional demonstration. Some tea ceremonies include a tasting of Japanese sweets called wagashi—a truly delightful break.
Settle into a hotel in central Nagoya. Spend the night in one of the city's oldest hotels, which has also hosted the Japanese imperial family. Enjoy a refined Japanese dinner.

Day 2: Last day of relaxation
Start your day with a second “ morning ” in a typical cafe, to taste different variations of Nagoya-style breakfast.
Then enjoy your morning strolling through the historic or shopping districts of the city, and visit Nagoya Castle , rebuilt exactly as it was after the war, which showcases the artisanal techniques of the time: hand-painted doors, gilded wooden ceilings, tatami mats…
Have lunch at a local restaurant that showcases hacchō miso red , a specialty of the nearby city of Okazaki , which has a particularly deep taste.
End the day and your tour by visiting a thermal complex where you can lie down on hot stones, promising absolute relaxation.
