Relaxing trip

Next, head to Nagano , a world-renowned ski resort. Visit Zenkō-ji Temple and its breathtaking views of the city, where you can witness morning prayers and experience a moment of meditation. Sample soba noodles, the local specialty, and explore traditional breweries. Further south, discover the famous "Crow Castle," a medieval fortress whose keep is the oldest in the country. Nestled in the mountains, the Kamikōchi Valley, with its stunning scenery, offers the ultimate in relaxation.

Next, travel along the old Nakasendō road. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, this once 550 km long road connected Tokyo to Kyoto during the Edo period (1603-1863). Merchants and messengers alike traveled along it, stopping at some of the 69 stations or “juku” that dotted the route.

End your trip in Nagoya , the capital of "mornings"—those coffee-sandwich menus offered in the morning at the city's cafes—on a relaxing note. After breakfast in one of these typical establishments, unwind in Shirotori Garden , one of the city's most beautiful botanical gardens, worth visiting in any season. The city is also renowned for its tea ceremony and is home to some of the most prestigious tea pavilions in the country.
