These reservations concern:

  • The train : Shinkansen (Japanese high-speed train), other high-speed trains, first-class tickets, pleasure boats, etc.

  • Airplane : international flights to Japan and domestic flights

  • The ferry : for crossings to Okinawa and various islands in the archipelago

Once your tickets have been sent to you, AYUMI Voyage cannot be held responsible for their loss, any associated costs, or delays. However, we remain available to assist you.

To travel freely on the Japan Railways network, which covers most of Japan, we also recommend purchasing a JR Pass. For occasional travel on local lines, we recommend ICOCA or Suica prepaid and rechargeable cards.

JR Pass

Enjoy a pass for unlimited travel on Japan Railway lines, the country's largest train network.

  • Duration : 7, 14 or 21 days

  • The Japan Rail Pass allows you to travel on:

    • Local train, bus and ferry lines of the Japan Railway network

    • The Shinkansen trains, with the exception of the very high-speed Mizuho and Nozomi trains.

    • The monorail linking Haneda Airport to Tokyo

    • The Narita Express, connecting Narita Airport to Tokyo (seat reservation required)

To collect your JR Pass, simply go to a major JR station, such as the one at the airport where you arrive. There, you can present your passport and hand in the exchange voucher that will have been sent to you beforehand. The Pass can be activated a day after the exchange.

If you have opted for a guide at the airport, they will assist you in this process.

ICOCA/Suica

The ICOCA card is offered by JR West, while the Suica card is offered by JR East. They work in the same way.

These prepaid transit cards, also called " IC cards ," are used throughout Japan for trains and buses, with the exception of the Shinkansen . Convenience stores (konbini ), some vending machines, and various other shops also accept these prepaid cards as a form of payment. Each time a card is used, the amount due is debited.

We will provide you with pre-loaded cards containing the amount of your choice upon your arrival in Japan. These cards can be topped up at any train station in Japan using cash .
